Together they made a good couple with lots of chemistry. I thought as smart as Emily was she was a bit one-track with harping on Max's non-existent relationship with his father who was also her mentor. The maniacal villain was such a sociopath you could practically hear the mwah hah hah! The good action set pieces and a closer look at T-FLAC as well as resolution on an outstanding problem helped make this a fun read.

A nice enjoyable read on a rainy day. I really liked Max. Oct 30, Leslie Whaley rated it really liked it. I was pleasantly surprised with how much I liked this book. Parts of it were kinda cheesy but didn't detract from the story or characters. Max irritated me a bit sometimes; he'd mention how he had no problem just up and leaving Emily the first time but then at other times would mention how hard it was to leave her that time. Considering this is the first book in the series I've read, I think the author did a good job of giving me the rundown on who and what T-FLAC was without boring me to tears.
I think I might pick up other books of hers in this series. Nov 04, Dorritt rated it did not like it.

I dislike when an author repeats the same sentences too frequently. Either she thinks we are slow or she really has nothing much to say.

White Heat is an excellent novel and one that I recommend as a keeper.
Cherry Adair has always been hit or miss with me. I think the problem with this one was that I just couldn't connect with either Emily or Max.

This book is sooo good. I don't think there is a single dull moment in the entire thing. It was action packed and hot. I've enjoyed all the T-Flac books I've read so far I've skipped the paranormal ones at this point, but read all the others. Unfortunately, it fell short for me. I didn't understand Max's inability to commit, considering how many other T-Flac operatives have already gotten together before him, and considering how encouraging he was to St.
John in the previous book.
